FAQ: Exporting Images & Videos
Frequently asked questions about exporting images and videos from iJewel Playground.
How do I export an image with a transparent background?
Follow these steps:
- Go to Post Processing → Tonemapping and set Clip Background to true (or set Background Alpha to 0)
- Go to Scene → Ground and uncheck Visible (or set Render to Depth to false)
- Go to Scene → Progressive Shadow and disable it
- Choose PNG as the export format (JPG does not support transparency)
- Export the image from the Export tab
See the full guide in Export Images — Transparent Background.

My exported image is blurry despite using high settings. What's wrong?
Video Tutorial
Watch the Common Export Issues tutorial for solutions to frequent export problems. Also see Resolution & Export from Playground for a complete guide on resolution and export settings.
Try these steps:
- Instead of using Scale, set a custom resolution in Viewer → Renderer — type the exact pixel dimensions you need
- Try the Tiled Export option in Export → Image Export which can produce higher-quality results at large resolutions
- Check that Depth of Field is disabled in Post Processing — this effect intentionally blurs parts of the image
- Make sure Anti-Aliasing (TAA/Progressive) is set to a sufficient number of frames
What is the maximum export resolution?
The maximum resolution depends on your device's GPU capabilities. Most devices support up to 2160px in the standard export mode. For higher resolutions (3000×3000px and above), use the Tiled Export feature in Export → Image Export, which renders the image in tiles and stitches them together.
Video export takes 10+ minutes. How can I speed it up?
Long export times are usually caused by high anti-aliasing settings with custom backgrounds. To speed things up:
- Reduce the Progressive frame count in Anti-Aliasing settings to something like 4 or 8 (instead of 16 or 32)
- Lower the export resolution
- Reduce the FPS — 24 fps is often sufficient for smooth turntable animations
- Don't close the browser tab during export — wait until iJewel finishes converting frames to video. You can monitor the progress in the browser console
What are the best settings for video export?
There's no single "best" setting — it depends on your use case:
- Turntable product shots: 24–30 FPS, 4–8 AA Progressive frames, 1080p or 1440p resolution
- Camera path animations: match the FPS to your original animation (usually 24 or 30), higher AA for final renders
- Quick previews: 24 FPS, low AA, 720p
You can find all these options in Export → Video Export.

How do I set the speed and direction of a turntable video?
Go to Export → Video Export where you'll find controls for turntable rotation speed, direction (clockwise or anticlockwise), and total rotation angle.

Can I export 360 still frames instead of an MP4 video?
Currently, only MP4 video export is available. PNG sequence export is planned for a future release.
Can I change the export format from PNG to JPEG for quick snapshots?
Yes. In the export options, you can choose between PNG and JPEG formats. PNG is the default because it supports transparency, but JPEG produces smaller files and is faster for quick captures.
How do I render a ring on a hand model?
You can import a hand 3D model alongside your ring and position them together in Playground. A free downloadable hand model (Blender file) is available in the description of this tutorial:

Can I add my company logo to exported videos?
This feature is not available in Playground at the moment. You would need to add your logo in a video editing tool after exporting. This feature is planned for a future update.
Can I remove the encryption from an exported file?
Yes. Open the encrypted file in Playground (you'll need the password), then re-export it from the Export tab with the encryption checkbox unchecked.
