How do I preserve user data strings when importing 3DM files?

By default, when importing 3DM files, iJewel3D ignores user data strings that may have been defined by some people or plugins, this helps reduce the file size and improve the loading performance. However, you can choose to keep them if needed.

If you're using iJewel3D.com, follow these steps when uploading a file:

  1. Upload your 3DM file to iJewel3D
  2. In the upload options popup, navigate to Advanced Settings
  3. Under 3DM Options, you'll find a checkbox labeled Load User Data Strings
  4. Switch it ON to preserve the user data strings from your 3DM file

This option allows you to retain any custom metadata or information stored in the user data strings of your 3DM files.

Alternatively, if you're using the Playground, on the right side menu, under Plugins >> Rhino 3dm Loader, you'll find an option called LoadUserDataString. Switch it on before dropping your 3DM file to load the file with user data strings preserved.
